SFA Development Units
SFA Development Units are small-group football development sessions designed to bridge the gap between isolated individual coaching and larger team environments.
Delivered in groups of 2-4 players, the sessions focus on creating realistic football relationships, combinations and decision-making situations whilst still allowing for high levels of individual coaching detail and feedback.
At SFA, we strongly believe that football is ultimately a game built around interactions with teammates and opponents. Whilst traditional 1-2-1 coaching can have value in certain situations, many of the most important aspects of the game are difficult to fully recreate within isolated environments.
Development Units are designed to create more realistic football situations through:
• Combination play
• Support angles
• Receiving under pressure
• Movement timing
• Position-specific relationships
• Communication and decision-making
• Small-unit transitions and interactions
Sessions remain highly structured and developmental, using the same academy methodology and coaching principles delivered throughout the wider SFA programme.
The aim is to provide players with realistic, game-related learning environments that better reflect the demands of modern football.
Availability will be intentionally limited, with priority access given to current SFA players.
